Manage the Footprint

Keep your physical footprint running

Ongoing ownership of the technology across every location you operate. Network, cameras, access control, field service, and the standard that holds it all together as the footprint grows.

What we see go wrong

Nobody owns the whole thing

The cabling vendor, the camera vendor, and the ISP each own their piece. When a site goes down, the first hour goes to working out whose problem it is.

The standard erodes

Every emergency fix, every local vendor call, every one-off swap moves a site further from the design. 12-months later there is no standard, just 40 variations.

Reactive rather than proactive

Nobody is watching the sites on a normal Tuesday, so problems surface as outages instead of as tickets. Proactive monitoring & triaging should be in place.

how we keep your sites running

Network Management

Full stack across firewalls, switches, and wireless access points. Segmentation that keeps guest, IoT, and operational traffic apart. IDS and IPS tuning. Scheduled off-hours maintenance, patching, and firmware across every location, with one dashboard for alerts and multi-site health.

Setting Standards

The design standard for your locations, maintained as you grow so each new site inherits it instead of starting from scratch. When something changes, like a hardware generation, a layout, or a new system, it gets designed once and rolled out everywhere.

Procurement & Refreshes

Hardware sourced, specified, and held against your footprint. Refreshes are planned against budget instead of waiting for failures, and replacement stock is on hand so a dead switch doesn’t turn into a two-week outage.

Site Systems

Cameras, access control, and conference room AV, managed across every site. Moves, adds, and changes handled as they come up, with wireless checks and heat-mapping whenever a space changes.

Service & Support

Dedicated network engineers and an on-shore help desk. Scheduled on-site visits, emergency dispatch when something is down, and first outreach to the carrier during an outage, so your store manager isn’t the one sitting on hold.

Didn’t build it? We’ll still run it.

Many of our footprint clients came to us with locations someone else built. We get every site documented and on one standard, then keep it there.

200+ locations, 20 states, one operating standard

Warby Parker came to Lerner in 2020 for a national retail expansion, and the relationship has run for five years since. 200+ new locations deployed, 144 existing stores retrofitted, and ongoing operations across 20 states, with technology platforms standardized and vendor management consolidated as the estate grew.

common questions

Before we talk, here's what most teams want to know.

How many locations does this make sense for?

It's built for companies where the locations are the business. After you have 10 locations, it stops being something one person can hold in their head, and past that the cost of not having a standard compounds. Below that we'd tell you so.

What happens when a site goes down at 6pm on a Friday?

It routes to a named escalation path rather than to whoever answers. We own the carrier outreach, the diagnosis, and the dispatch if someone needs to be in the building.

We didn't build these locations with you. Can you still take them on?

Yes, and many of our footprint clients came to us that way. We assess what's deployed, document it, and work out what gets brought to standard now versus what waits for a refresh cycle.

Do you replace our internal team?

Usually not. Most of our footprint clients have someone internal who is stretched across too many responsibilities. We become the operational layer underneath them so they can do their day job.
